Faire La Tapisserie

Born in Paris in 2002 and raised in Saint-Émilion, Elliot Zontone is Influenced by a free and instinctive form of Cubism, he develops a vibrant, fragmented painting language built on momentum. He paints on the spur of the moment, guided by a vivid intuition, privileging movement over representation. Lines fracture, forms overlap, and accident becomes language. Material turns into a space of tension, energy, and emotion.

The body holds a central place in his research, particularly the nude. Neither academic nor idealized, it appears raw, at times fragmented, infused with desire, vulnerability, and strength. His approach echoes his vision of wine and life: sincere, vibrant, and free. His travels—from Mexico to Asia, and to southern Italy—feed an intense and luminous palette. Sport, which he practices daily, also influences his work through its relationship to rhythm, endurance, breath, and the body in motion. His practice seeks less to fix an image than to capture an energy.

Beyond the canvas, Elliot Zontone embeds his work within architecture and space. He creates monumental murals for wine estates, luxury hotels, and heritage sites, including Château Sévérus in Saint-Émilion and Château du Palanquey. He is currently collaborating with a four-star hotel in Paris, for which he is creating 36 original murals, reinforcing his long-term engagement with the hospitality and interior design sphere. He also develops immersive works at the bottom of swimming pools, painted with resin-based materials directly onto the liner, transforming the basin into a submerged canvas.

An artist-entrepreneur, he extends his universe through Maison Vareuz, a brand of unique textile pieces derived from his paintings, and collaborates with Inaltera on wallpaper creations, expanding his visual language into immersive environments. His work is gaining increasing visibility. He has exhibited notably at the Palais Brongniart in Paris and in several galleries in Bordeaux, Paris, and Nice. He has also participated in an auction at the InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hôtel, marking his entry into the secondary market. His work has been featured in Acumen magazine (Galeries Joseph) as well as in Tralala magazine.
